Starting your Journey
Head to Knightsbridge for breakfast-with-a-difference at Dishoom – the Naan Rolls are delicious and if you’ve really got an appetite, try The Big Bombay. Next door is the incredible Japan House, a recent discovery, which has lots to explore. There’s a stunning gallery and library, a beautifully curated shop and a fine-dining Japanese restaurant – Akira – on the top floor.

Midday Meandering
I love the tranquillity of Hyde Park – I always look out for the ducks or a heron by the water. Then, for more arts and culture, you can’t miss the magnificent V&A. I’d recommend lunch in the William Morris café on arrival, then an exhibition. Everyone is raving about the Christian Dior show but if you can’t get tickets, the permanent galleries are impressive enough in themselves – there’s always something new to discover.

Sunset Strolling
After a packed day of exploring, head back to the hotel to relax in the wonderful drawing rooms and reflect on your highlights. Then, after freshening up, take a 15-minute black cab to Roka in Mayfair for dinner. The food and atmosphere is always special there.
