Dating back to the gunpowder plot in 1605, Guy Fawkes night sees London bright with colourful fireworks and noisy with the bangs and whirrs of pyrotechnics. There are so many open spaces around the city to view these dramatic displays, so we’ve compiled a list of some of the best to visit this November. 

Battersea Park

A short walk south of The Kensington means you’ll stumble upon Battersea Park’s fireworks display. Presenting the theme of ‘power’, these award-winning pyrotechnics last 22 minutes on Saturday 3^rdNovember. Amble your way over to Battersea Power station after the display where there are restaurants and bars to warm up and recover from their awe-inspiring spectacle.

Alexandra Palace

One of London’s biggest Bonfire night events, Ally Pally is hosting a two-day festival, located in the North of London. Replete with displays, German beer, a gigantic street food market and even an ice rink, you’re bound to have an incredible night watching the skies. Whilst this location is a little further out of Central London, the spinning Catherine wheels and sky rockets will be seen from one of the capital’s most impressive view points on both Friday 2^ndNovember and Saturday 3^rdNovember, so it will definitely be worth the trip.

Primrose Hill 

North of The Marylebone stands Primrose Hill, a glorious vantage point for viewing firework displays all over London. Whilst there isn’t an actual display planned for this venue, this is the best location to watch the sky light up around the city. 

Wembley Park’s Light Up the Night

For its first ever Light Up the Night event, Wembley Park is celebrating both Diwali and Bonfire Night all in one go. A glorious union of colours, light, music and fire, this free event includes three live performance stages, a fire and light parade and the ultimate firework display.

Escape the crowds and head to London’s best viewpoints right in the city centre. How about a bite to eat at Duck and Waffle, located at the top of Heron Tower? The city’s highest restaurant is open 24 hours a day serving its delectable waffles. Or, escape the cold and head to Oblix at the top of The Shard for towering views of the colourful skies.

And once the displays are over and your necks are aching from looking up at the vibrant hues, make your way back to The Coral Room at The Bloomsbury to curl up by the fire with a drink in hand.
