Fun ways to get fit in the capital
Prepare to work up a sweat with an exhilarating workout in the city
Abandon the treadmill and try something new to get your heart racing during your stay in London. We’ve rounded up the most unique ways to workout (and make memories!) in the capital.
Body Combat classes at Third Space
A stay at The Marylebone isn’t complete without a visit to the Third Space gym and spa in the hotel’s basement. The state-of-the-art fitness centre offers an urban sanctuary in the heart of Marylebone, with a beautiful pool, luxurious spa and abundance of classes available for guests. For something a little different, we recommend trying out one of the Third Space combat classes. From Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (where the focus is on sound technique rather than brute force) to Fight Klub, where attendees perform a combination of boxing, kickboxing and dance to the sound of a beat, there’s a variety of fun and interesting ways to get fit without even having to leave the hotel.

Seen on Screen
Taught by celebrity instructors in several different London locations, this collection of empowering dance classes is perfect for visitors to the city who want to fit in a workout whilst having as much fun as possible. Go with your mum, your friends, your partner – anyone who wants to have a good time and doesn’t mind working up a serious sweat to the sounds of Beyonce.

Climb the O2
Head East to the iconic O2 dome and get ready to see London in a new light. The climb to the top of the dome isn’t the most strenuous, meaning the whole family can get involved. Children aged 8+ are welcome and climb guides are on hand to gear each climber up with a suit, boots and harness, and will be with you every step of the way. Marvel at 360’ views of historic Greenwich, the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf and the glittering River Thames, with daily climbs happening through the day and at twilight or sunset.

Wild swimming at Hampstead Heath
The capital isn’t all skyscrapers and hustle and bustle – head a little further North and you’ll find the tranquil oasis that is Hampstead Heath. Amongst the wild meadows, woodland and beautiful picnic areas, there’s an array of ponds to visit too, some of which can be enjoyed by wild swimmers. The Heath has mixed and singles ponds with changing areas and surrounding banks to relax on – ideal for visitors who want a taste of the great British countryside during their time in London.

Trampoline Fitness
Prepare to bounce, sweat and laugh your socks off at this indoor adventure land, all set on a bed of trampolines. Jumping on a trampoline for 10 minutes is the equivalent of 30-minutes of jogging on treadmill, so book in for an hour of ZAPfitness with Simone Wilson, founder of The Jump Collective, for a HIIT workout with a difference that focuses on the entire body.

Located just 10 minutes from The Kensington is Clip ‘N’ Climb Chelsea: an indoor climbing centre suitable for adults and children aged 4+. Those really looking to maximise their fitness, can book a Climbercise class.
