Weekend Breaks in Cork

Weekend Curators: William Murray’s Whistle-Stop Tour of Cork

William Murray was born & raised in Currabinny and spent lots of his life in Cork city. William is a home cook food writer and half of the Currabinny food brand.

Born and raised in Currabinny, Co.Cork, I am deeply proud to call myself a Cork person. Growing up by the sea I have always had a love for fresh food and local produce, something that I have carried throughout my life and into my work as a cook and food writer. I left Cork for university in Limerick and Dublin but always return home to visit family, spending most of my time in my home village of Currabinny. When I do venture to the city I love discovering new wonders and visiting some of my old favourites. When friends visit, The River Lee becomes the perfect base for a weekend of exploring, in my opinion, Ireland’s greatest city!

When creating these offers with The River Lee, I wanted to ensure that they showcased the best of Cork and told the story of the city. Many of the places I’ve mentioned in my curated weekend showcase the best of Cork and I hope you enjoy visiting them as much as I do.

Book the 2-night offer and follow along with my 48 Hours in Cork guide, or stay for one night , and relax with delicious cocktails and dinner.
