See the Dublin skyline at dusk
A view from an iconic building
Nothing beats watching a city as the sun sets. As the sky melts from day into night, the city slowly starts to bathe in a warm glow, as city lights begin to sparkle and come to life.
And there’s no better place to take in the city of Dublin than the Etihad Skyline Tour at the iconic Croke Park. This tour has been one of the most popular activities in the city since its launch, and the extraordinary success of the dusk tour, introduced last year, means that there are now more dates available in January.
You’ll see the capital move into darkness from the rooftop of Croke Park, where sporting heroes have won championships, and Beyonce has played before a roaring crowd. From the vantage point, 44 metres above the ground, you can take in the entire city. A tour guide will treat you tales of Dublin’s rich history, including some fitting winter stories from the local area. You’ll be able to drink it all in while gazing out at the panoramic views of the city.
Tours last 90 minutes, and include access to the GAA Museum, so you can learn more about Croke Park itself. Tickets are available to book online for €15pp (€10 for children, who must be over 1.2m tall). Concession tickets for students and seniors are €12 and a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) is priced at €42.
You’ll also get a toasty hot drink in the Blackthorn Café so you can warm up following the tour! Don’t forget to dress up warm for the tour itself – you’ll be chillier than normal at a height.
Afterwards, you can always pop into The Croke Park for dinner (and maybe even a hot toddy). It’s the perfect activity if you’re staying in the hotel.
