All Through the Night: Poetry Anthology Launch at The Westbury
Book of poetry edited by Marie Heaney
The Doyle Collection has long had a commitment to supporting the arts in Ireland. The latest project to be supported is Poetry Ireland’s latest anthology, All Through The Night, which was edited by Marie Heaney. The launch for this anthology was held in The Westbury on 17th September, and was a roaring success.
A number of guest readers held court throughout the afternoon, including Marie Heaney, Moya Cannon, Peter Fallon, Bill Caddick, Gerard Smyth and Peter Sirr, who all recited pieces from the anthology. There was a musical element too, with the beautiful Irish singer/songwriter Lisa Hannigan performing a selection of her songs in The Grafton Suite.
The anthology includes night poems and lullabies by WH Auden, William Blake, Eavan Boland, Emily Dickinson, Paul Durcan, Seamus Heaney, Ted Hughes, John Keats, Derek Mahon, Paula Meehan, Paul Muldoon, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, Sylvia Plath, William Shakespeare, Dylan Thomas, WB Yeats and many more.
It wouldn’t be a Westbury event without exceptional food, and this was certainly true at the launch. Guests tucked into treats themed for the evening, like Chamomile Tea and Lavender Macaroons, as well as savoury canapés, all created by Executive Chef Sandeep Singh.
