A fashionable guide to London

#LFW

As the fabulous LFW circus rolls into town this weekend we round up where the most stylish will be found in our fashionable capital

Hair

George Northwood – If you want to get the ‘Alexa’ or ‘Rosie’ look then George is your man. He’s the only man allowed near their hair and rightly so, his team are experts when it comes to cut and colour.

Josh Wood Atelier – When the city’s top hair stylists aren’t backstage at LFW they can be found at this super-smart Holland Park hair salon.

Beauty

Content – Just around the corner from The Marylebone, this is a one-stop-shop for organic wellbeing and beauty. Stock up on lesser-known must-have cosmetics or book in to a session with its nutrition therapists of for a specialist treatment.

Margaret Dabbs at Liberty – As if you need another excuse to cruise into Liberty – one of London’s most iconic and fantastic department stories – Margaret Dabbs and her legendary pedicures are it. She uses O2 therapy, Halo therapy and offers Reflexology too.

The Refinery – This is where the men get FROW ready with a session at Harrod’s secret beauty cove.

Shopping

Marylebone High Street and around– Forget Oxford Street, it’s overcrowded and full of shops you’ll find anywhere in the world. The fashionable head to Marylebone Highstreet for international, independent and inimitable boutiques full of clothes to kit you out for LFW. Favourite boutiques include KJ’s Laundry full of low-key but luxe separates, Margaret Howell for perfectly tailored pieces, LK Bennett for a perfectly-put together outfit and J.Crew for statement jewellery.

Motcomb Street – Another of our favourite haunts is this Knightsbridge enclave home to the likes of Christian Louboutin, Eres and Carolina Bucci, plus Anya Hindmarch on nearby Pont St.

The Shop at The Bluebird – Owned and curated by Jigsaw's Belle Robinson, this beautiful store (an Instagrammer’s dream) cherry-picks pieces for men and women from international collections and up-and-coming labels and has a wonderfully eclectic collection of accessories.

Lambs Conduit Street – This partly-pedestrianised street not far from The Bloomsbury is full of independent boutiques, bars and restaurants. Start with unusual concept store Darkroom selling one-of-a-kind and hard-to-source accessories from lesser-known emerging designers. Then pay a visit to Folk for cool, understated collections, before stopping in at interiors haven Pentreath and Hall.

Fitness

Frame – Harking back to the days when it was all about aerobics and fabulous eighties dance moves, Frame gets the fashion-pack moving with classes like ‘Bend it like Barbie’ and Frame Rave. The fitness studio in Shoreditch also offers Barre, Yoga and Mediation.

Skinny Bitch Collective – As you might guess from the name, SBC takes no prisoners and is called the ‘secret class for supermodels’. Developed by Russell Bateman who has trained top athletes, the class is about changing habits rather than just getting fit.

Lululemon's Marylebone High Street branch is used to kitting out celebrities and models in its uber-stylish gym wear but it also offers free yoga and exercise classes if all the fashion week shopping leaves you feeling the pinch.

Yoga in your room - The ultimate in celebrity behaviour would be taking advantage of The Bloomsbury's new in-room Yoga sessions, which cost £100 per hour.

Sights

Victoria and Albert Textiles Gallery – Who needs LFW when there’s 75,000 individual objects spanning 5,000 years to be seen in this South Kensington gallery. Forget #StreetStyle, this is where you’ll find your fashion inspiration.

Stay

The Doyle Collection – Not that we want to blow our own trumpet but what with the likes of fashionista Pippa Vosper checking in to The Kensington, Elle MacPherson being spotted sampling her own juice menu at its Juicery and Liz Hurley holding press events there, plus Millie Mackintosh dining at The Bloomsbury and Dawn O’Porter staying at The Marylebone, The Doyle Collection's London hotels really are the places to see and be seen during London Fashion Week.
