A Romantic Valentine’s Morning at... Dublin Zoo?
Try something a little different this year
When you think of Valentine’s Day, you probably think of bouquets of roses, boxes of chocolates and chilled champagne. But while there are no shortage of romantic things to do in Dublin (check out our recent post for suggestions) there’s also something in the city that’s just a little bit different…
Dublin Zoo is once again holding its famed Date Morning, during which couples gain a unique insight into the animals, before the crowds arrive. Held on Valentine’s Weekend, guests will pick up a picnic breakfast from Haughton House before heading into the zoo, where the animals will be stirring.
There are also special talks held by the expert zookeepers, covering topics such as courtship, breeding and the exotic romantic rituals of the animals. Such a rare access into zoo life is sure to thrill any animal lover, and the limit of 100 couples means that there will be plenty of space to wander.
The Valentine’s Date at Dublin Zoo will be held on Saturday 11th February and Sunday 12th February, from 8am – 10am (though tickets include full day access, so you can stick around for as long as you like). Tickets cost €75 per couple, and can be bought here.
A stay at The Croke Park is the natural accompaniment to Dublin Zoo, at just fifteen minutes away by car. On 10th and 12th February, there are currently luxurious rooms available from just €129 per night, including a full Irish breakfast.
And if Dublin Zoo appeals, but you want to bring the kids, don’t forget that The Croke Park have a wonderful Dublin Zoo Family Package from just €229, including…
- Overnight accommodation for two adults and two children in a Superior Room
- Family pass to Dublin Zoo
- Full Irish Breakfast
- 3-course evening meal in The Sideline Bistro
