The Best Views In London
We've put together our favourite vantage points for enjoying some of the best views in London
With so many amazing places to see the spectacle of sunsets across London, we’ve put together a list of our top vantage points for summer sundowners in the big smoke
As we reach the height of summer in London, the longer days and gorgeous sunsets illuminate London’s dreaming spires to create some of the most magical and recognisable views in the world.
Britain’s tallest building, the 95 storey Shard, provides 360 degree panoramic views across London. Watching the sun go down and the lights across the city slowly flicker into life from London’s highest vantage point is a mesmerising experience not to be missed.

Just down the road from The Kensington lies one of London’s worst kept secrets. The Roof Gardens is a tranquil oasis that sits seven floors above Kensington High Street, perfect for enjoying summer evenings with a cocktail. With three distinct gardens taking up a whopping 1.5 acres, each of the trio has its own unique feel. From the Mediterranean vibe of the Spanish Gardens, to the quintessential English Woodland, The Roof Gardens is the perfect place to get lost in your own enchanted wonderland whilst enjoying one of their Tuesday night Jazz evenings, or weekend BBQs.

Just a quick stroll from The Marylebone, Primrose Hill offers stunning vistas across London, framed by the gorgeous greenery of the park. It’s the perfect spot to spend a summer evening with a picnic in the park watching the sun dip down beyond the horizon.

A recent addition to London’s skyline, Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street can boast the title as London’s highest public garden. Offering 360 degree uninterrupted views across the City of London, guests can enjoy the exquisitely landscaped gardens, observation decks and an open air terrace. Although entry is free, space is limited and visits must be booked online.

Not quite as sky high as some of the other views on this list, but no less special. Take in a unique view down the Thames from the top of tower bridge, and enjoy the exhibition at the top of the tower whilst you’re there.

6. Tom’s Terrace, Somerset House
Head south from The Bloomsbury towards the river and you’ll find the magnificently imposing Somerset House. Tom’s Terrace, with its stunning views across the Embankment and the river is the perfect place to enjoy a summer cocktail whilst watching the world go by from this regal setting.
