Dublin’s Perfect Pre-Theatre Dinner
Where to eat before a show
The Dublin Theatre Festival has drawn to a close for another year, with many shows taking over the city’s best venues for a showcase of exceptional work from Ireland and around the world. Plays like King of the Castle, which returned to The Gaiety after premiering at Dublin Theatre Festival in 1964, where it went on to win the Irish Life Award.
And with many theatre fans looking for a bite to eat before a show, WILDE became a clear front-runner for those who are after dinner and a show. With The Gaiety less than five minutes away by foot, WILDE is the perfect starting off point for a night at the theatre.
Open daily from 12.30pm, WILDE is an elegant and stylish start to any evening, and the flexible menu options and gorgeous space make it the perfect partner.
If you fancy something light, you can enjoy a few Carlingford Lough oysters, or a Burrata starter for two, with vine tomatoes, kalamata olives and basil, and great with a frosty glass of champagne.
If you’re looking for something more filling, the menu of mains will fit the bill. Known for their impeccable steaks, WILDE is the only choice in town for a beef connoisseur. Sourced by the award winning John Stone, their beef is Irish, grass-fed, aged for 28 days and marinated with a house spice rub, then served with your choice of Béarnaise, Bordelaise, café de Paris butter or Wilde smoked steak sauce.
The cocktail menu is exceptional, with an array of classics expertly blended by the mixologists behind the bar, alongside some creative new concoctions. Like the Rosemary Negroni, made with Gin Mare, Cinzano rosso vermouth, Campari, rosemary and orange zest. Or the Basilico, with Absolut Vodka, grapefruit, basil and honey. There’s an extensive menu of Signature G&Ts too, with some of the best gins from around the country blended with high-end tonic waters and botanicals.
You can see more about WILDE on their website, including menus, opening hours and booking information.
