As the nights draw in and mercury drops London turns its attention to one of the year’s biggest spectacles, Bonfire Night. A bizarre celebration in some respects, celebrating the failed attempt by Guy Fawkes and his posse at blowing up the Houses of Parliament but a beautiful one none the less. If you’re staying at The Bloomsbury…

A gentle stroll across Bloomsbury’s iconic squares will lead you to Coram’s Fields, where a family-friendly fireworks display kicks off at 5.15pm. The event is free and there will be fairground rides and street food stalls, all raising money for the Coram’s Fields charity.

Head back to the hotel to warm up on Dalloway Terrace with a hot whiskey flavoured with honey, nutmeg and sugar, or a hot chocolate laced with bourbon and topped with cream or hold the bourbon for something more PG friendly.

Cross the river to join the party at Battersea Park 

If you’re staying at The Kensington… 

Cross over the river to one of London’s most popular fireworks parties at Battersea Park. Hosted by Virgin Radio UK’s presenter Christian Williams, the park’s celebrations include great music and food options. Booking tickets is essential.  The fireworks begin at 8pm but you can enter the park from 6pm.

If hotdogs aren’t your thing then save yourself for The Kensington’s restaurant Town House and its warming Autumnal menu.

Your own private fireworks display from The Marylebone Suite

If you’re staying at The Marylebone...

You have several options for fireworks displays at The Marylebone. One is to upgrade to the Marylebone Suite with its stunning outdoor living room and views across London – for your own private Guy Fawkes party.  

Option two is to cross Regent’s Park and head to Primrose Hill where a short hike will give you the second best views of London and all the fireworks displays. 

And option three is to walk around the corner to Cleveland Square where an enormous bonfire accompanies a fireworks show from 7.15pm. Tickets for this event are sold by Cleveland Arms Pub and cost £5 per child and £10 per adult. There will be a BBQ and mulled wine on sale on the night too.
