Bristol 24 hours what to do

Bristol Harbourside

Breakfast: Every good day starts with a good breakfast. Kick yours off at The Bristol’s River Grille, with harbour views, steaming pots of coffee and a buffet piled high with delicious pastries, salmon, eggs and wonderful fresh fruit.

Morning: Walk down the river from The Bristol and you’ll find a number of boat tour operators offering trips around Bristol, which will take you up to Clifton Suspension Bridge, jump off here and stroll into Clifton Village for a coffee and peruse of the chic boutiques.  Then re-join the trip to go back down the river past the hotel and onto Bristol City Centre.

Bristol St Nicholas Market

St Nicholas Market

Lunch: Make for St Nicholas Market for lunch, it’s made up of 60 stalls, selling knick knacks and street food. It’s the food we’re interested in now!  You’ll find everything from sizzling jerk chicken, to vegan dishes and plenty of sweet treats.

Afternoon: Spend the afternoon wandering around the Old City, which is brimming with character. You’ll find cobbled streets, secret alleyways and fascinating architecture. Take a heritage walking tour of the city and discover ancient Norman ruins and beautiful sculptures. The tours last for roughly an hour and a half. If you’re more into modern art than ancient, opt for a Banksy walking tour instead. While he might be a world famous artist now, he started his days spraying graffiti on the walls of Bristol and many of his earliest work is hidden around the city.
