Rooftop Yoga at Dublin’s Croke Park
Brand new class in the sky
Croke Park stadium is one of Dublin’s most beloved sights. But whilst it’s known as the location of iconic sporting moments, there’s plenty more to Croker than matches.
Croke Park’s Etihad Skyline has been a huge hit with visitors, and is now one of the top tourist experiences in the city. The rooftop walkway boasts Dublin’s highest open viewing platform, and offers incredible views over the city.
There have been some extra-special events on the Etihad Skyline, from charity abseiling to beautiful sunset tours. But the latest offering is rather exciting, particularly for yoga fans.
For a limited time, outdoor yoga classes will be held on the Etihad Skyline, with morning classes held 17 storeys above the city. From your yoga mat, you’ll be able to breathe in 360° panoramic views of Dublin City, Dublin Bay and the stadium itself. The Skyline also has an overhang over the pitch, so you’ll be able to soak in the atmosphere within the stadium as you stretch.
The classes will be held by Aisling Conn from Aisling Conn Yoga and Pilates, and will run on set dates, starting on the 13th May. Aisling has been practicing yoga for close to 20 years, and her classes are inspired by Iyengar and Ashtanga styles.
The numbers will be limited to 15 participants, so classes will be intimate and a great way to start the weekend in style. They’ll also be suitable for all levels, even beginners.
Afterwards, you can enjoy a fresh juice in the GAA Museum’s Blackthorn Café, which is included in the price of the class.
Niamh McCoy, Director of the GAA Museum, said “Here at the home of Gaelic Games we are all about reaching new heights, promoting positive physical and mental wellbeing and creating unforgettable experiences for our visitors, so Yoga on the Etihad Skyline was a natural fit.”
The Etihad Skyline Yoga classes cost €25 euro per session, including a juice afterwards. Advance booking is essential. The May dates have now sold out, and additional days have been added - August 12th / 19th / 26th and September 2nd.
