Blog (The newest addition to London’s brunch scene)
Brunch is an excuse to sit back after a busy week and indulge in a long, drawn out meal, perhaps with a cocktail to handIt’s a time to unwind with friends, safe in the knowledge you’ve got nowhere to rush off to afterwards.
One of the newest additions to London’s vibrant brunch scene is the new menu at 108 Brasserie in The Marylebone Hotel. With a location just off Oxford Street and a slick, spacious dining space, 108 Brasserie is the perfect spot for a weekend brunch. And that’s before we even get to the food that’s being cooked up in the kitchens.
All of the classics are there, from Buttermilk Blueberry Pancakes to Eggs Benedict, cooked to perfection and as delicious as they look. There are the modern favourites too, like Avocado on Toast, with grilled tomatoes and chilli flakes.
But then there are the more unusual options, like Smoked Haddock served with potato cake, spinach and lemon.
If you’re looking to keep things healthy, then you won’t be disappointed with the Superfood Egg White Omelette with chia seeds and spinach. Or you can keep things simple (and get nostalgic for childhood) with tasty Soft Boiled Duck Eggs with grilled Wye Valley asparagus.
The creativity doesn’t end with the cocktails, either. An Irish twist is brought into the mix with a Black Velvet (a mixture of Guinness & prosecco). The Bloody Mary is thrown upside down with a Bloody Maria, which blends Hornitos tequila with tomato and lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and tabasco.
And if you still have room at the end of it all? The Brunch Special Dessert is surely the pudding of champions. Salted popcorn is served up with peanut butter ice cream and a healthy drizzling of caramel sauce. Dessert doesn’t get much better than that.
Brunch is on offer from 11am – 5pm each weekend at 108 Brasserie. You can see more at www.108brasserie.com.
