The Official Date
Did you know that The Queen celebrates her birthday twice? It is said to be Royal tradition that if the actual birth date does not fall in the summer then the birthday is celebrated publicly in the summer months for a better chance of good weather. The Queen’s actual birthday is April 21^st but she will officially celebrate her birthday with the public on June 11^th.

Trooping of the Colour
If you are planning to visit London on June 11^th you can take part in celebrations at the Trooping of the Colour, otherwise known as The Queen’s Birthday Parade. The event takes place at Buckingham Palace and The Mall. Our advice would be to arrive early to secure a front row spot for waving to The Queen as the royal carriages pass along The Mall. Keep up-to-date with official news and events on The Royal Household’s website. If you happen to be in London the week before the event, you might be lucky enough to watch the rehearsals of this special event.

RAF flypast
At 1pm on June 11^th, The Royal Air Force will perform a flypast where you will have the opportunity to spot The Royal Family watching from the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Look out for the young Royals, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
