108 Bar launches its very own bespoke gin

The exciting launch of 108 Gin, the new bespoke gin distilled in-house at 108 Bar, is not to be missed. Who doesn’t love a refreshing gin and tonic this time of the year? Make your way over to The Marylebone and enjoy gin-based respite from #dryjanuary. You can learn how the gin is made and taste the light and fragrant flavours of juniper berries, lemon, coriander and basil for yourself.

From Botanicals to Beverage

Gin lovers rejoice! This December, 108 Bar, which is located at The Marylebone, has launched its own bespoke gin – 108 Gin. The bar’s bespoke gin still is warmly known as ‘Isabella’ and sits right by the bar, allowing guests an exclusive opportunity to observe the delicate distillation process. The gin is specifically created to compliment Mediterranean Tonic water and a zesty slice of orange, creating a balanced, light flavour in every sip. The fragrant flavours of juniper berries, sweet orange peel, lemon peel, coriander seeds, prune, cardamom, basil and angelica root perfectly combine to create a delicious flavour profile.

Settle in at 108 Bar and watch as the gin undertakes its intricate distillation process. Firstly, the botanicals need to be steeped in neutral grain for 48 hours before any distillation can begin. It then takes around four hours for the botanicals to be slowly heated in a copper pot, used because of its heat conduction and the ability to remove impurities. The botanicals’ unique flavour – including juniper, basil and sweet orange peel – are released during this time. When the liquid reaches an 80% alcohol content, the gin is diluted and carefully tasted by the bar team to ensure it is distilled to its very best standard each and every time. Finally, the drink is ready to be served to guests at 108 Bar. Now available, 108 Gin can be ordered as a gin and tonic and is also available in a selection of bespoke cocktails.

Set in The Marylebone, 108 Bar offers a sophisticated setting to sip on bespoke gin all evening. The bar itself is glass-topped and lined with red leather bar stools, accenting the bar’s sleek interiors. Mirrors behind the bar create an open and spacious feel, whilst plush velvet seating amongst the bay windows invites a relaxing sense of home. The bar also offers a delectable small plate menu including salt and pepper squid, heirloom tomato with torn burrata and seared tuna with wasabi and soy. Or, why not order the Cajun buttermilk fried chicken with a blue cheese dip or the Monmouthshire cured ham for a little bit of indulgence?
