Where to Watch King Charles’ Coronation Procession in London
With the official Coronation Procession route unveiled, discover the best locations in London to experience the historic coronation of King Charles III on 6th May.
Westminster Abbey
King Charles and Queen Camilla will arrive at Westminster Abbey at the end of their procession from Buckingham Palace — known as ‘The King’s Procession’. The official coronation ceremony will then take place in Westminster Abbey, making it a great spot to catch a glimpse of the royals and join the celebrations.
The Mall
The Mall is the route running along the north side of St James’s Park from Buckingham Palace, through Admiralty Arch, to Trafalgar Square. Get there early to secure your space lining The Mall, Horseguards or Parliament Square and be a part of the historic celebrations.
Buckingham Palace
With the day’s celebrations beginning and ending at Buckingham Palace, it’s a fantastic spot to enjoy the procession. The new King and his Queen Consort will appear on the balcony to conclude the day’s events, after The Coronation Procession concludes at the palace. Their Majesties will also receive a Royal Salute from the United Kingdom and Commonwealth Armed Forces.
The Royal Parks
Screens will be set up in the Royal Parks for well-wishers to view the coronation service and procession, and possibly also the showing of historical film footage. Food stalls and pop-up bars will be available 10am – 6pm.
Hyde Park will also be showing the Coronation Concert, held at Windsor Castle, on Sunday 7th May.
Grosvenor Square
Mayfair’s Grosvenor Square will also host large cinema screens showing coverage of the Coronation, plus of the celebratory concert at Windsor Castle. Food stalls and an outdoor bar will make the spot one of London’s most popular to experience the occasion.
There’s still time to book your London visit for the Coronation weekend. With hotels in the iconic areas of Kensington, Marylebone, and Bloomsbury, you’ll be perfectly located to enjoy the celebrations. Discover The Kensington, The Marylebone, and The Bloomsbury.
