Winter is here and the City is encased in market stalls and outdoor Christmas food markets waiting to be explored. From mulled wine to fairy light encrusted pathways, this list of London’s best winter markets will have you all prepped for festive season.

  

1.  Southbank Centre’s Winter Market

This year Southbank’s Centre will host its annual Christmas winter market, which is open until 5thand set beside the scenic River Thames. Hundreds of visitors in the run up to the big day will be given free admission to walk around and soak up all the winter feeling as this outdoor market hosts numerous stalls.

 

Wander around its beautiful and atmospheric riverside market for a day filled with delicious food, festive drinks and gift shopping. Expect the aroma of mulled wine to fill the air as you enjoy an impressive list of food menus from melted cheese to pork-filled gyoza’s and are tempted to pick up any last-minute Christmas decorations.

2.  Christmas at Camden Market

Head down to north London’s Camden Town to experience an eclectic mix of market stalls, workshops and food stalls, all set within the backdrop of its famed canal. 

 

Last year it was transformed into a real-life North Pole, with snow canasters and fairground rides, which set the season spirit and allowed visitors to shop, eat and laugh amidst the ambience of lively jazz music and singing carollers. This year it will continue on the festive fun, offering a ‘late nights’ closing of 9pm on the 7th, 14thand 21stof December for those keen shoppers.

3.  Winter Wonderland

Nothing says Christmas like a dedicated wonderland to all things snow, market stalls and fairground rides and that’s exactly what you will find at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland from November 21st.

 

An oasis of festive themed activates, the park’s annual transformation will welcome over 50 themes Christmas market stalls, après-ski villages and ice-skating rinks ready and waiting for visitors to explore within its fair. With free entry and open every day until 10pm, head down for a day of evening of fun amongst its German tents, karaoke huts and delectable food stalls.

4. Canopy Christmas Market, King’s Cross

 

Head over to Kings Cross for Christmas under the Canopy at their annual festive market open from 29thNovember. The daily market will be packed with a host of special events waiting to be explored by guests, such as workshops, gifts and most importantly mince-pies and mulled wine.

 

With the market supporting local, independent and ethical food producers, eat until your hearts content at numerous different food stalls offering mouth-watering street food choices for you to dine on. End you even in true Christmas spirit and join in with the live carols and live music around its brightly lit tree, covered in various garlands.

5.  Maltby Street’s Night Market

 

If Christmas is all about food for you, there’s no better place to head during the festive period than Maltby Street’s night market. Open to the public every Friday from November 22ndfrom 5pm – 9.30pm, it’s definitely a foodie paradise filled with delectable discoveries of cuisines all perfectly aligned down its cosy pathways.

 

The hidden market nestled between London Bridge and Bermondsey station has no shortage of mouth-watering bites to fine on from juicy Japanese cuisines to fabulous fromage’s from cheese specialists. After filling up on the all the festive delights, retreat to one of its cosy bars for a well-deserved G&T.
