The best cocktails for winter
Get cosy at Terrace on the Weir
Now that winter is upon us, it’s time to change up our tipples. Gone are the days of ice-cold mojitos and frosty glasses of rosé – winter is the time for cosying up under a blanket with a nice, comforting cocktail. And the Terrace on the Weir is the perfect place to do so, particularly now, while it’s transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland. Fairylights are strung between the rafters, the chairs are draped with thick fur blankets, and there are some new, very exciting, cocktails on the menu…
This new selection of ‘Choctails’ at The River Lee is the ideal accompaniment to winter, using the best quality spirits combined with sweetly indulgant ingredients. Think hot chocolate with a little kick, served in Instagrammable glass mugs with decadent decorations. Here are the choctails on offer…
Buttons Up Baileys
Nothing beats Baileys, especially in the run up to Christmas. This one is served with delicious white chocolate buttons.
The Nutty Dub Jameson
The festive season wouldn’t be the same without whiskey and spices, and this cocktail comes with shaved fresh nutmeg.
Weir’s Chocolate Orange Cointreau
Another Christmas favourite, the chocolate orange combo in this cocktail is a festive dream, and comes served with Cadbury Flake and orange shavings.
French Fireside Hennessy
The kind of drink that captures the feeling of being cosy at the fireside, this warming cocktail comes with demerara sugar.
It’s Mint To Be Crème de Menthe
This minty, chocolatey cocktail comes with a sprig of fresh mint.
The new menu of Choctails is available now in Terrace on the Weir, the fully heated and cosy outdoor area right on the water. Check it out here.
