Spring has sprung at Dalloway Terrace

Experience a whimsical greenhouse garden in the heart of London

For its first transformation of 2020, The Bloomsbury’s Dalloway Terrace will transport guests to the idyllic garden at Virginia Woolf’s Sussex home, Monk’s House.

This season’s transformation will take guests on a journey to the stunning surroundings of a quintessentially English garden – the perfect springtime escape as we hopefully wave goodbye to the chills of winter. Cascading roses, sweet peas, and terracotta pots filled with tulips. ?

Fragrant herbs will also fill the restaurant, with notes of Lavender, Rosemary, Thyme and Mint bringing the charm of a spring greenhouse to Dalloway Terrace.

Dalloway

The team have enlisted the help of the acclaimed McQueens Flowers to bring the beauty of the tranquil garden to life, who created the tranquil floral display to evoke the sights of Virginia Woolf’s garden at her 16th century Sussex retreat, Monk’s House. The garden played a vital role in Woolf’s life, providing a source of both inspiration and a retreat from the rest of the world, and it is in a writing lodge tucked in the corner of the gardens orchard that where she wrote most of her major novels.

DALLOWAY COCKTAILS

Botanical cocktails will complement the theme, inspired by classic flowers from an English country garden. Sample the Daffodil – a refreshing mix of Belsazar Rose Vermouth, Crème de Pêche, Muyu Jasmine Verte and Jasmine Saicho Cold Brew Tea – or try the sweet Garden Rose, combing Villa Ascenti Gin, Manzana Verde, Mint & Lime Cordial with LE Rhubarb & Cardamom Soda.

The spring menu is just as exciting, with seasonal fruit and vegetables featuring throughout the dishes, alongside locally sourced meats and a series of scrumptious desserts, including Bramley Apple Charlotte with custard and Bolivian Wild Chocolate Fondant with blood oranges.

DALLOWAY MEAL

The restaurant’s ever-popular afternoon tea has received a seasonal update too, with the sweet section taking inspiration from British favourites. Highlights include Blueberry and Violet Cupcakes, an English Strawberry Tartlet and Raspberry and Pistachio Opera Cake, while the savoury side offers Spring Lamb and Mint Sliders and Smoked Halibut on Guinness Bread, amongst vegetarian options.

Unique touches will make a visit to Dalloway Terrace all the more special this season, with seeds for guests to take home allowing them to create their own garden paradise, and floral lollipops featuring edible flowers available to enjoy as an after-dinner treat.
