New Year's Eve in Bristol

Party time!

You’ve opened the first door on your advent calendar, posted your letter to Father Christmas and maybe even – if you’re very organised – decorated your tree. Yes, it’s December; Christmas is well and truly here. In fact, the carols are ringing as I write this. So now that Christmas is under control it’s time to turn your attention to New Year’s Eve. For some, the biggest night of the year. Others may just want to hide under a duvet and pretend it’s not happening. If you’re in the first camp then read on for we have rounded up three of the best of Bristol’s New Year’s offerings.

New Years Eve Gala offer 1200 x 555

Gala Ball at The Bristol

See in the New Year in true style at The Bristol’s Gala Ball. The hotel’s fabulous harbour-side location makes a suitably glamorous backdrop for the party, which starts at 7pm with cocktails. Sit down to a four-course meal, rounded off with coffee and macaroons, followed by entertainment from The Fabulous Lounge Swingers band. A DJ will keep the atmosphere going well past midnight and on to 2am, plus The Bristol is offering a fabulous overnight package. For £299 per couple, you’ll get the gala ball, a deluxe double room, English breakfast to blow away the cobwebs and a late check-out at 3pm.

New Year’s Eve at The Spiegeltent

We’ve raved about The Spiegeltent’s lively acts previously but when it comes to NYE, the immersive theatre experience is pulling out all the stops. It will be adding three extra spaces to its tent village and throwing out an incredible line up of raucous cabaret, live DJs (Paul Daley, Tom Middleton and MC Rodney P), comic performers. Reserve a booth for the evening along with 10 guests and receive a bottle of Champagne to kick things off with a pop! Tickets are from £37.50.

The Snow Queen at Bristol Old Vic

If you’re at a loss of what to do with the family on New Year’s Eve (although of course The Bristol can organise a babysitter while you party), how about a trip to the theatre with all the tribe? Bristol’s Old Vic is showing a new and thrilling version of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen featuring live music and original songs. The performance on 31st December starts at 2pm, perfect timing to catch the show and then head back to the hotel for a festive afternoon tea in the lounge.
