Learn the art of calligraphy at The Bloomsbury

A writing course with a festive twist at The Bloomsbury.

The festive season has begun and what better way to prepare for the new year than with learning a new skill. The Bloomsbury hotel has teamed up with the stylish stationary brand Papier, to host a series of creative calligraphy sessions just in time for Christmas.

The Bloomsbury is one of The Doyle Collection’s most iconic hotels, located just a short walk from The British Museum. Attendees to the Papier events will be welcomed into the beautiful Seamus Heaney library - a studious space to get the creative juices flowing.

The first event will be taking place on the Sunday 10th November, when the hotel will become home to a workshop of art as expert calligrapher Suzie Dicker of Å L’aise takes centre stage to teach the skills needed to perfect the flicks and twists of calligraphy. Suzie will be guiding her class through the most important techniques, alongside the do’s and don’ts of calligraphy creations. Attendees will be able to work their way from singular alphabet level through to experimenting with fun coloured ink to add a different element during this 3-hour interactive class.

Guests will also be able to take their creations away with them, along with nib, ink and some personalised Papier stationary to continue on their writing journey at home. A perfect introduction for individuals wanting to learn the basics of modern calligraphy, this is one to do in time for those Christmas party invites.

The Bloomsbury offers a stunning selection of stylish rooms and suites for guests who wish to stay the night, with its central London location providing the ultimate spot for exploring the capital and beginning that Christmas shopping a little early.

Book your tickets on Eventbrite and head down for an afternoon of practical fun with the added bonus of a festive cocktail, which is included in your £30 ticket – to end the day on a merry high.
