Balfes: For a Special Lunch in Dublin
Dublin's hottest lunch spot
Sometimes you want a little more from lunch than a salad grabbed on the go, or a sandwich eaten at the desk. There are times when a day calls for a proper meal at lunchtime - where you can enjoy a delicious, filling meal and reap the benefits for the rest of the day.
It can be a little tricky to manoeuvre in town – you might want a substantial lunch, but don’t want to dawdle into the afternoon.
Enter Balfes.
The chic bistro is bang in the middle of Dublin, and perfect for a satisfying meal. But while the menu is filled with dishes to tempt you, the daily lunch specials are the perfect combination of beautiful Irish ingredients and great value.
The specials change each day, exploring the best produce that Ireland has to offer, from succulent lamb to super fresh seafood.
Each special is exceptionally priced at €15.50, and includes a lemon posset dessert pot for dessert. You’ll still find the menu available on the weekend, too – the juicy roast chicken is the perfect end-of-week dish.
If you’re feeling virtuous, pair it up with a fresh juice, or treat yourself to a glass of wine or an excellent cocktail.
The current Summer menu of specials is as follows…
Monday
Grilled Irish rare breed pork chop with potato mousseline, peas, broad beans & herb oil
Tuesday
Pan fried orange glazed salmon, Asian greens with soya & chilli sauce
Wednesday
Gnocchi with wild mushrooms, garlic & pecorino
Thursday
Josper grilled paillard of chicken with mixed leaves & sweet potato
Friday
Pan fried sea trout, crushed potatoes with herbs and spring onion, tomato concassé & caper sauce
Saturday & Sunday
Half roast chicken with stung, roast carrot & parsnip & home cut chips
The menu is available from noon – 6pm every day. You can see more at www.balfes.ie
